I took the kids to Avila Beach with the sole intention of letting them play on the really nice new playground. This worked for about half an hour before they begged to go down in the sand to make sandcastles.
Once we headed for the sand they both bolted for the ocean and were playing wave tag before I even caught up with them. Abigail, always the cautious one, rolled up her pant legs so she didn't get them wet.
So much for "just getting feet wet"
Her shirt may as well read "My mommy is so happy that I am a girl" but this works also
Why just play in the dirt when you can eat it?
A woman with 2 little girls kept bringing these little crabs over for Carter telling us that her girls weren't interested in them. Abigail agreed with her girls and kept her distance but of course, Carter was thrilled.
This boy was COVERED head to toe in sand and was soaking wet by the time we left. I couldn't have counted the comments I overheard while we were leaving about "that poor little boy" but little did they know that I couldn't have stopped him if I tried.
