Kern County Fair

We finally did make it to the fair. I took them during the day on Senior Day and the seniors sure got a kick out of Abigail & Carter. Of all the things they did, I think they may have liked the impromptu game of duck duck goose they played on one of the lawns while we had a picnic. My favorite memory- a little goat scaring Carter (ok, and me a little) by bleeting at him just as soon as he leaned forward to get a better look. He hid from every animal after that and decided that they were all "scary." Too funny!

The kids got their faces painted just before we left. Abigail sparkly butterfly, Carter lizard. They each were delighted to be allowed to choose their design all on their own.

John's Incredible Pizza

We tried to make it to opening night of the Kern County Fair but spend almost an hour sitting in traffic just to get into the parking lot. We made a last minute change in plans & had a great night at John's Incredible Pizza instead.

Carter Puts on a Show

First, let me just say that I had NOTHING to do with this- all I did was take pictures of what unfolded. I guess this is the kind of thing that happens when you have a big sister who loves to dress up, stand on the fireplace and put on shows because that is exactly what he did this morning- complete with three outfit changes. I will say that this boy sure does know how to put on a show!

Storytime with Curious George

Barnes & Noble had story time with Curious George on Friday so of course we had to go. Both kids love Curious George & I love any place that is full of books so it was an obvious must go. Abigail headed right up front & Carter went right onto the stage in true Carter fashion. I was trying to get him off the stage & with the rest of the kids when out came George & he unintentionally did the dirty work for me. Carter bolted straight for me, wanted me to pick him up, and buried his head into my neck. Carter snuck glances at him here & there but distracted himself by studying the Dr. Seuss books next to him. Both kids passed on taking photos with George. Abigail said "I don't think that is the real George. I think it's just a person in a costume. He was too big to be the real George." Carter didn't answer me directly but waved & said goodbye to George and then ran away.

The kids got to pick out their 1st book store books. Carter found a Toy Story sticker book (surprise, surprise) and Abigail found a princess music book.

Random Photos

Another photo taken by my mini-me, Abigail
I took the kids to see Toy Story 3 and Carter actually sat through the whole thing ( I use the term "sat" loosely) and he is now more Toy Story crazy than he already was.

Kelsey, aka Auntie Cool Beans, brought a gift for Carter's birthday when she came down for her bridal shower. As you can see, Carter loves it. He drug it into his room & made it his own little makeshift bed.

A rare sibling snuggle moment

Carter turns 3

Carter officially turned 3 last month. Abigail made birthday brownies,

Carter blew out his candles,

and practiced becoming Buzz Lightyear.
