Feeding the Ducks

Abigail is terrified of the ducks and Carter could not love them anymore. The child has no fear and chased those poor ducks all over and let them eat bread right out of his hands, which made him laugh like the crazy little man that he is!

Little "Helpers"

Some days I wonder why I even try. On this day I walked in to find the bin of summer clothes I had just folded for storage all over the floor along with the winter clothes I had just put in the drawers. I walked back out, grabbed my camera, took these pictures, and then walked away and just let them have their fun. Carter stayed busy for an hour. That in itself makes it all worth it!

Happy 25th Anniversary!

Uncle Steve and Aunt Sue celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary with a renewal of vows ceremony and a very nice reception at their home afterwards. Thanks to my mom for watching the kids so we could enjoy the occasion and sneak away for a much needed date night and to DJ's mom for taking them to church on Sunday to give me a quiet, relaxing day!

Happy Birthday Alyson & Melody!

Our busy weekend started with the 3rd annual celebration of Alyson, Melody, & Mahala's birthdays at our house. My kids loved all the extra attention from their Aunties since they were the only little ones aside from Misty's daughter. Carter again proved to be the party animal who thrives on attention from women. He was a dancing machine!

My Rough & Tumble Boy

Carter ignored my warnings about messing around in the bathtub and fell out, right on his head. Here's the end result. Yet more documentation for a future CPS case...

Footie PJs

As you can see, Carter was not happy about new pajamas. He would run naked all the time if I would let him.
I tried to lay down for a moment and almost instantly became a carnival ride

The Joys of a Cardboard Box

My Dad sent early Christmas gifts to our house last week with instructions to hide them away for Christmas. They came in a great big box- so great that they didn't even ask what came inside the box. Yes, distraction is a mom's best friend! They played in this box for days.

Pumpkin Fun

Surprisingly enough, Carter thought scooping out pumpkin guts was torture. He started off very excited but as soon as he touched the slimy inside he was over it. He also was irritated that the top was off so I could scoop the insides for him and kept shoving the stem back onto the pumpkin every chance he got.
This was the first year that Abbie did her own pumpkin. Each year before she hated the way it felt inside.

The finished product- Jack O'lanterns! Abigail got to pick the shapes of the eyes, nose and mouth and I cut them out for her.

Happy Halloween!

Poor Cinderella kept tripping over her dress even though she held up the front of it like a trooper
All the kids (and DJ) that set out for some candy

We stop amid the mass amount of chaos to take a quick family pic. Abbie as Cinderella, me as her cat Lucifer (yes, I know), Carter as a headless and angry Boots the monkey, and DJ as I'm not sure what. He was quickly deemed Joe Dirt for the rest of the night.

They wait patiently (kind of) at the door

The inevitable tantrum from Carter

Trick or Treaters on the run

Abbie shows off her loot

Carter notices he has a tail and wrestles it a bit

One of two existing photos of Carter wearing the whole Boots the Monkey costume- he HATED it!
