Another One Down

As things go with little ones, now Carter has the same bug and is as pitiful as can be. Sick kids are heartbreaking, babies are even worse!

One Mad Prince!

So, I decided that I had really better get going on Carter's bday party or his might be pitiful in comparison to Abigail's. Since he is having a "little prince" party, Abbie and I found a couple of crowns for him so that I could get a picture of him wearing one for his invitations that I just HAVE to order today. As you can see, he was not a fan of the crown. I did finally get one of him that did not include clenched fists or crocodile tears, but it was still tempting to put this one on there instead!

Poor Little Sickie

Miss Abigail came down with a nasty virus yesterday that left her with a high fever and little red spots from head to toe. All she wanted to do was cuddle up on the couch with my big pink blanket and watch Dora while we waited for her dr. appointment.

New Fav

Carter's newest favorite game is playing with Hot Wheels on the fireplace hearth. He thinks he is the best thing ever because he learned to not only climb up, but get down without killing himself (unfortunately for me this took a few days). It is one of the first things he goes for when he wakes up in the morning and gets a kick out of anyone who will stop and push cars around with him.

More Trouble

Carter strikes again! Dora twins thrown from the stroller, Carter standing in seat-backwards of course- and watching TV. If he didn't do these kinds of things all of the time, I would feel like a bad mom for grabbing my camera and snapping a picture before removing my small child from a high, poorly balanced location. More often than not, and quicker than even I can believe, the child is somewhere he is not supposed to be!

More Mischief

On this morning, I was frantically looking for Mr. Carter because he was not in his normal spots he likes to go to for trouble, like the master bathroom to turn on the bathtub, the cat food bowl, or Abbie's pj drawers. Who would have guessed a 10 month old would find a way into the toy box? I'm guessing the guilty looking Zoe was an unwilling accomplice since Carter loves to climb all over her. I'm sure he used her for a little boost!

Another Morning at the Park

With the high temperatures and the bad air quality, the kids and I have been feeling awfully cooped up these days. DJ had another rare Saturday off, so we took the kids to a park we hadn't been to before for a bit of fun.

Sharing Means Caring

The kids and I went to Vons this morning. For the first time I let both Carter and Abbie "drive" the car shopping cart- usually Carter has to sit in the basket by me. They were having a great time! We stopped at the bakery for Abigail's special cookie and then picked up a few more things. Little did I know that Abbie was taking the lessons on sharing to heart and had shared her cookie with brother! I didn't discover it until I started unloading groceries and looked down into the little car. The checkers thought it was the cutest, funniest thing they had ever seen! I didn't really agree, but it was hard not to laugh just a little. I wish I would have had my camera to capture how messy his face, hands, and the cart were! At least she is getting the idea.

Dinner Time

DJ has been working days this week, which means dinner time has been just me and the kids. I stopped and looked at them after I had given both of them their dinners and saw how cute this everyday routine was. Both in their own seats, eating the same foods, happily and quietly. No more baby food for Carter- feeding self finger foods only (Hooray!). Granted, this only lasted for about five minutes, but I captured the sweet moment all the same!

The Sticker Bandit

Abigail was nice enough to "share" her Dora stickers with Carter this morning! She stuck them all over his back, bottom, & forehead. I don't think he even had a clue!

Bedbugs

The kids LOVE to hang out in bed together, most often after Carter's morning nap. They snuggle, wrestle, tickle, and sometimes fight.

Swimming!

DJ's parents are out of state for a family wedding and were nice enough to make us feel more than welcome to take over their home and pool, so we did! The kids and DJ took naps while I got to float around in the pool in silence (priceless!) and then we all went swimming and had dinner together. A fun, though exhausting, day for all of us. The only bad thing about the day was that one of our neighbors called us to inform us that our dogs had busted through the fence at home and were holding all of our neighbors hostage! Such BAD dogs! DJ had to rush home and get them, fix the fence, and go around apologizing profusely to several neighbors- including the new family that just moved in yesterday! Other than that today was as relaxing as a day with two small children can be!

A few of Abbie's newest favorite things.... her Dora babies. Anyone who is familiar with Dora knows that Dora has twin siblings and now Abigail is the proud owner of them! She pushes them all around in her shopping cart (girl always in the front) and gets a huge kick out of putting their binkies in their mouths. They are SO cute!
